Marketplace Ministry
Coming Soon…New Thought Marketplace Ministry!
Over the years I have offered our paradigm shifting prosperity program to clients locally and have felt called to find a way to offer this program on a global basis, regardless of ability to pay. Because the need is so great at this time, I am in the process of forming a non profit organization as a vehicle to expand who I can serve. People tend to turn to Spirituality in times of stress. I believe that we can reach the most receptive people through New Thought Spiritual communities so have named the non profit organization New Thought Marketplace Ministry. The purpose of New Thought Marketplace Ministry is to help Spiritual communities prosper by helping its leaders and congregants prosper.
Churches have also been impacted as a result of declining membership and, therefore, financial support. One would think that at least attendance would be up because many people tend to turn to the church during times of need. However, unlike when there is a flood, earthquake, fire or loss of a loved one when communities band together to support one another, when the need is financial in nature people tend to isolate. Very often their self worth is hit hard and people feel a great deal of shame around financial difficulties. The tendency is to isolate and in that isolation develop tunnel vision that leads to a downward cycle of hopelessness, depression and sometimes suicide. The impact of the stress on relationships, families, and health can be dramatic.
New Thought Marketplace Ministry is a grass roots, system wide vehicle for raising prosperity consciousness starting with leadership and emanating throughout the entire community.Through this program we will teach Spiritually integrated, practical skill building tools and practices from a perspective of prosperity consciousness. The more individual congregants prosper the more the Spiritual community prospers and the more people the community will be able to serve. Helping entire congregations prosper expands the circle influence from individuals to communities and nations. This program will ultimately:
- Help individuals, communities and nations prosper
- Increase church attendance because people will be attracted to this program
- Weave the community together in a very solid way
- Inspire more people to serve
- Build long-term base of financial support for churches
- Expand prosperity consciousness on a system wide basis
- Provide a support system for ministers
- Provide individual support for board members
- Ground the churches vision in a long-term financial plan
New Thought is a spiritual movement which developed in the United States during the late 19th century. New Thought is open to a wide range of spiritual ideas, and is accepting of insights from science and philosophy. New Thought emphasizes metaphysical beliefs, a set of beliefs concerning the effects of positive thinking , the law of attraction, the healing power of prayer, creative visualization, and personal power. These beliefs are based on Spiritual Principles that govern our physical existence and are immutable and unchanging.
The Spiritual Principles reflected in New Thought teachings are not new nor are they the creation of a particular religion or religious leader. All of the great Spiritual Masters of the past awakened to these principles and made them a vital part of their message. Rather than present dogma and doctrine that tells you what to think and how to live your lives, the intent is to show you the way to discover a higher level of spiritual awareness within you through which you can resonate with the absolute truth.
There are three major branches within New Thought including Unity, Religous Science, and Church of Divine Science. Many of you may have read the Daily Word or contacted the 24/7 Silent Unity prayer hotline many times over the years and not known both were offered through Unity.
During my childhood and teenage years I attended a Lutheran church. Even at a young age the teachings didn’t resonate with me. For many years as an adult I “threw the baby out with the bath water” and stopped attending church. During a particularily rough period of transition in my 30’s I found myself seeking a spiritual path that I felt at home with. I attended many different denominations ranging from Unitarian, Quaker, United Church of Christ, Buddhism, and Unity.
I currently attend Unity In Marin in Northern California. Though I had attended other Unity churches off and on over the years, I felt at home in this community from the very beginning. Unity teachings simply put words to what I already had come to believe based on my life experiences and filled in a lot of blanks! My life has so changed for the better since coming to Unity In Marin in 2002. I attribute those changes to putting the Spiritual Principles to work in my every day life.
Though my chosen spiritual path is Unity, my intention is to honor the spiritual path that resonates with you. Whatever your spiritual beliefs and practices are, my intention is to encourage you to bring the power of those teachings and practices help you to make the difference you are here to make and to live a prosperous life, personally and financially. Below you will find Unity’s Five Spiritual Principles as a way of understanding where I’m coming from.
- God is absolute good, everywhere present.
- Human beings have a spark of divinity within them, the Christ spirit within. Their very essence is of God, and therefore they are also inherently good.
- Human being create their experience by the activity of their thinking. Everything in the manifest realm has its beginning in thought.
- Prayer is creative thinking that heightens the connection with God-Mind and therefore brings forth wisdom, healing, prosperity, and everything good.
- Knowing and understanding the laws of life, also called Truth, are not enough. A person must also live the Truth that he or she knows.
